V-Vocal Format Problem

I opened an older project I had recorded 2 years ago in Sonar 8 in X-1, hoping to punch it up.  I had used AutoTune on the lead vocal in the earlier version, which doesn't work in my X-1 (64).  I removed all remnants of the ATune in the FX section of the track.  But now when I attempt to Create a V-Vocal clip I get an error message that says the format of the clip is wrong (it give a series of reason for which none apply).   I have upgraded to the X-1d Patch.  Any ideas?    As always, I appreciate the help.

Select all the clips in the track and do a bounce to clip

Now split them where you want V-Vocal applied and, er, apply V-Vocal
