Can You Run Project from SONAR X2 Essential in SONAR X2 Producer

Simple question that I think I know the answer to, but here it is:
Can you open a project tracked in SONAR X2 Essential in SONAR X2 Producer?  Can I just have him send me his project file along with the folder of audio and simply open it and start mixing?
 
I think yes, but want to be sure.  I've been using SONAR for years and have X2 Producer.  I have a friend who wants to record his band and only wants to do simple tracking and send me the files to mix for him because I have a lot more plug-ins and experience with mxing on the computer.  I just want to be sure our idea will work seamlessly before I advise him to pick up X2 Essential.

      Yes of course. All Sonars are compatible with all others. The  only problem is using features from one version that is not in another.

    Thanks! I was about 99% sure it would work, but wanted to check before I had him pick up the program.  I knew it would only take a few minutes for a quick answer around these parts.

    That works fine.  I have a friend who I advised to pick up X 2 Essentials, which he did, and I walked him through some basic midi tracking in a project there.

    I subsequently copied the project folder (and the Audio folder within) over to my machine, and was able to open and add to the project in X 2 Producer with no issues whatsoever.
