Shortcut To Move Now Time Question

Is there a keyboard shortcut to move the Now Time marker to the beginning or end of a selection?

I've looked in the reference guide and didn't find anything. I'm hoping I missed something.

Seems like a simple thing that I should be able to do.

Thanks.

What do you mean by a section?

There are shortcuts for moving through Markers
There are shortcuts for Clip navigation
'G' lets you define a measure/beat/tick to go to

So what do you mean by a section?

Yes, you can do this... as a matter of fact, I was just working on the section of the upcoming SONAR X2 Power! book that talks about this topic.

First the easy one... to move the Now time to the beginning of the selection, press Shift+G.

Unfortunately, the shortcut for end of selection isn't set up. So you'll need to choose one and set it up by pressing P, choosing Customization - Keyboard Shortcuts and then assigning a key binding to the Go To Thru function.

On my main DAW(that runs cubase) I have a contour shuttle hooked up and it moves the now time left and right with the jog shuttle, one measure at a time.

I forget the keystroke I have set up but it's a left or right arrow or something, but you can do it.

    Nothing like that in Sonar?

Yes, you easily move by measure using Ctrl+PgUp and Ctrl+PgDn. But that's not the same thing as moving to the beginning/end of a selection.

    Hey Colin,

    How's it going?

Don't feel bad. This is a busy board and sometimes I find myself skimming through messages too because a lot of times there just too much to read, especially when there's work to be done!

SONAR X2 Power! is coming along nicely. A lot of changes and new features to cover, but that's okay. All the details will be in the book.

Also, the next DigiFreq newsletter should be going out soon...

you can use the shuttle in sonar, I was going to buy one so asked the maker.. also you can use keymapping of cubase in sonar, it's in the prefs. maybe thats mapped also.

I have a poor mans version.. a  usb  number pad I got cheap recently £3 , which does some of it (start / stop / record) like the ST days

    Hi Thomas,

I have no idea. Some retailers might do this... I think you can trade in some books over at Amazon. But other than that, I don't know of any other trade in offers.

    Thanks,
    Scott
