Ez mix Toontrack do i need this?
Hello every one Ok. I've read that i'm suppose to have everything that i need in Sonar X1 (producer) for the mixing of my songs. I've already bought Superior drummer from toontrack and i'm very please with it. I found that they (toontrack) have very good products but would i need a product like EZmix? Anybody tried it? And by the way i'm doin' metal songs. Any advises? Thanks

EZ Mix is a wonderful product and if you can afford it is well worth what you spend. To answer your question, Yes, you have most of the tools already in Sonar to do anything you need to do. You just will spend more time learning how to use what you have. EZ Mix comes with a fair amount of presets and I think you will probably be spending as much time tweaking the EZ Mix patches as you would setting up your own custom patches with what is in Sonar. My two cents worth says I believe you would be better served spending that money on more Toontrack drum librarys. All of the EZ Drummer librarys work in Superior as well. You didn't say in your post if you have any of the EZXs or SDXs. That would be a better investment to me.

I use EZMix sparingly but when I do it usually solves a problem quicker than I've spent more time on than I care to. Some will say, you're a lazy lout. To whit I say, "Yup, that's me".

I have it and use it along with comparable but more expensive Izotope Alloy and Nectar. I am a hobbyist, not a pro, so these tools make a quick "decent" sounding mix happen quickly. When I do go pro--surely any day now--I can always go back and remove these plugins and tweak to my heart's content with "the real stuff".

I am going to order EZMix2 this week-end. I will report back. I do not use a lot of effects on single tracks or busses, but, that said, I am hoping I can learn from and benefit from some of the presets since they were designed by very well-respected producers. I will probably immediately turn off the tape delays and other effects that don't fit my style, but I am expecting and hoping for some good stuff out of this plug in. I am pretty happy with Guitar Rig 4 and am not buying EZMix2 for the guitar amp sims, but maybe there will be some jewels there as well. From the Toontrack site it is $179 USD. From the Sweetwater site it is $149. Both are electronic delivery. I am not promoting either place—just letting you know you might want to shop around. Note that EZMix2 comes with some basic mastering tools and there is also a mastering plug-in set available for extra cost that can only be used with EXMix2. I am hiring a mastering engineer to do the final masters for my current project, but plan to use in-the-box mastering tools to get decent copies of the tracks for website demos, Soundcloud, etc. (And, hey, maybe they will be good enough...)

Bapu, If you would send me the extra $30, then everything would be fine. Thanks. Seirously, I will check that company periodically. I do like Sweetwater's ongoing tech support, but for some things, that is probably not needed (e.g., Melodyne).

Hmm, if it only cost $119 then it must be a piece of crap and I don't want it anymore. Kind of like how people think a band sounds 10x better if there is a velvet rope and a $10 cover.
