How do I change patch list to reflect actual patches on my Roland D-70 syn?

I am learning to use Sonar Home Studio and hava a project with a track connected on Midi 1 to my D70. The default patch list is GM which does not map to my D70 properly. I can choose 0-128 but would rather have the correct names showing. It looks like an instrument def. file would do the trick. I tried to make one by starting with a Roland E-78.ins file and then importing it but that isn't working for me.. so far. Any help guys? thx. John

Did you look in the Roland.ins that comes with Sonar. I see a lot of SC-D70 patch banks. Is that the same as the D70? You should be able to model your INS file with it.

Thanks for the reply Dave. In my Sonar Home Studio 7 install folders I don't see any Roland.ins file. I have searched my full C: drive so I probably don't have one. Would you mind emailing me a copy of yours. Send to verobel@sympatico.ca
    thx. John

belay that last reply.. I did find Roland.ins but it just came up with a weird icon next to (bad association file type). I was able to open it in notepad and cut out what I need and saved to D70.ins on my desktop.. will try to add other ctrl lines as per Gregs linke below. Thx. john
