Strange problem with midi clips.

I have some drum patterns I save for reuse and then drag them in from the browser.

Say I have a 4 bar loop playing, then I drag in a clip and place it right after the currently looping part.

Now every time the looping clip starts over, it plays a bit of the clip that comes right after?

Why is Sonar playing part of a clip that comes after the loop when it never gets to that part?

If I move the clip I just dragged in so it's not right next to the looping part then it doesn't happen.

EDIT:

Spoke too soon, it does happen, it's like Sonar wants to play a bar from the clip that comes after when looping, if I move the preceding clip less than a bar away from my loop section, Sonar plays that bit, if I move the preceding clip more than a bar away then it doesn't happen.

are both clips set up as groove clips??? are they vst patterns or audio loops?  are they both set up for looping??  were your snap to landmarks set to off and snap setting set to measure? when you say looping do you mean you have a loop region set up in the project?

EDIT - ok MIDI clips not audio loops... duh just re-noticed your subject.  sorry about that! first thing to try is highlighting the looping clip and then click the loop region set button.  see if that works.

What's funny is that the first clip that's looping, is looping fine before I drag the next midi clip in. Then I drag the new clip so I'm 100% sure it doesn't overlap.

Hit play... The loop plays fine once, then gets to the end, loops over and plays a bar of the next clip, then goes back to normal, gets to the end and the same thing keeps happening.

If I now move the new clip one bar from the looping clip it doesn't happen, if I move it less than a a bar, the portion of the new clip that's not a bar away will play at the start of the loop.

They are not groove clips as I always record a whole section (Verse, bridge, chorus etc..) with the natural variations that creates, I'm a drummer so I don't like static 4 bar loops repeated over and over.

    Very very strange.
