Won't recognize input

When I turn on X1, I get the error message that the MIDI devices aren't hooked up correctly.  I have a Edirol UM-2 MIDI adapter hooked up.  In MIDI devices I see it in the inputs box.  When I check it and Apply, it unchecks it.  Even if I turn on the keyboard it's connected to, it still unchecks it.  Why doesn't my X1 like my Edirol?  It's a sad bit of disharmony...  :-)

I have a UM-3G and it works fine. Try unplugging the UM-2 and re-plugging it. If that doesn't work, re-install the driver.
