New Track Automation Time Base Setting

I would like to switch the tracks and busses to use the new Absolute track automation Time Base setting so that I can change the tempo of a project recorded without respect for the project tempo without moving nodes.
 
I need to do this on both Tracks and Busses in order to make it useful.
 
I have it working on the tracks but not the busses.
 
On the busses when I select the bus and go to track properties under the Automation category I do find Time Base, but I'm not able to change it.
 
What thing am I missing that would make this work?

    Ok. With a bus that has no envelopes, it is possible to switch it to Automation Time Base to Absolute time from musical, but once you have an envelope on the track you can't change it. What good is that?

    Anyone out there who can nod at this and say I should add it to Cake's problem tracker?
