Midi always playing

No idea where to look for this, and I've tried the obvious places. In 8.5 the only input midi that was echoed out was the channel and synth associated to a highlighted track. I get that now, but I also get midi channel 1 going to the first synth in my rack no matter what. No idea why. Fortunately the first synth and channel in my rack is a Steinway, else it would be very annoying. What am I missing? If I'm on my Oboe track I just want to hear the Oboe unaccompanied by my Steinway when I play:-) It's all fine during playback. Sonar X2, build 306

No takers? Is anyone else experiencing odd midi functioning in X2? I expect the midi side (hey, Cakewalk 101 (okay version Cakewalk v1.01:-)) to be rock solid.

Wow, never noticed that before. I guess I won't ask why but rather just post there. Thanks! -rich

I'm not sure I understand the question, but if you are playing a MIDI instrument and have multiple synths in the rack, make sure you turn input echo off on the tracks you don't want to respond to the MIDI keyboard.
