Sonar X2 Studio - Been exporting audio to MP3, but suddenly I need encoder.

Hey, Cakewalk support.  Thanks a lot for all the help you offer on these forums.  I REALLY appreciate it.

Since getting Sonar X2 Studio, I have exported many audio projects to MP3.  But lately when I do it, it says that I have not unlocked the MP3 encoder.  Is export to MP3 not included in the normal program any more?

    This is not cakewalk support, it is a user forum. SONAR only includes a 30 day trial of their mp3 encoder. If you purchased an mp3 license for a previous product, contact tech support and they will help you activate the mp3 encoder in SONAR. If you have never purchased an mp3 license from Cakewalk, it is available for purchase or export wav files from SONAR and use an encoder like LAME to produce mp3 files.

    What scook forgot to tell you is that you get a free 30 day trial of the MP3 encoder when you purchase X1 - X2.
    After 30 days it stops working and you have to purchase it from the Cake Store.


    It's not included.  So your 30 day trial has obviously expired.

    just export wav mixes and encode using itunes or lame. good idea to keep raw wavs of the final product and all track stems around anyway.

    Or output .wav and import .wav into Audacity and export as MP3.....

    All great advise

    I got tired of the bouncing around and just spent the $20 on Cakes MP3-Makes things so easy especially when things creep up and your in a hurry
