Mackie MCU Automate Mute with X2

I think I've already read all the existing posts, and I asked this before when I was using 8.5: Has anyone gotten the automate mute working with the Mackie MCU? 1) I right click on the mute in the track and switch to automated mute. 2) On the Mackie I press M1 and Mute but no joy. 3) I've also tried M1 and rec on the Mackie as well. The automation "W"rite button actually changes color, or at least the top left triangle of it does. But the mute automation doesn't get recorded. Thanks, Kevin

Why there is a mute/automated mute is beyond me. One mute that is automatable and available to control surfaces seems like basic feature 101. But what ever. Been complaining since Sonar 7. Probably the reason I haven't upgraded, things like that. And not breaking working control surfaces with each upgrade. I understand that being able to isolate a vocal track and remove it with rmix is important so I can use Sonar as a kareok machine is important.
