TH2 Producer and Sonar X2: A metal demo...

A lot of folks showed some interest in what I could get going with TH2 Producer (the version that comes with Sonar X2 Producer). I posted my results in the songs forum last night and thought maybe I should post a link up here for those who don't venture downstairs that often.

It's my first full production with X2 Producer and my second time using Sonar in general. As most of you know I'm very much a beginner so any tips or insights would be great. I am currently having an issue with the drums being too low and not defined enough in the mix. However TH2 is working like a champ and tweaking the guitar tones was a breeze so I stand by my earlier sentiments that it is an awesome piece of guitar software. I recently upgraded to the full version but I did not use anything except the light version for this track because I wanted to showcase what it could do. Also on my soundcloud page is another song titled "Beepster Metal" where I used GR5 for the guitars. I think the there is a significant difference in quality and getting even that meager tone out of GR5 was a very long and annoying process. I still like GR5 and I used it for the Bass tracks on this one but IMO TH2 is just far better sounding and easier to use. Cheers all and I hope you are having a good day.

Yeah, I see what you mean about the drums Beep.

I'd be inclined to get your drums & bass working as a unit before bringing in the guitars.

Other than that you have some good material there to work with

Cheers, Jonesey. That's pretty much what I tried to do but I guess once I started tweaking the guits I buried the drums and bass. I need a lot more experience and education on that. Tweaking guitars is easy after all the years of playing and dealing with less than ideal gear... the other stuff, not so much. I'm gonna have to spend some time learning the math of proper EQing and mix separation I think before I can really start getting more pro quality productions. At least now I have the tools at my disposal.
