Show only Active Take Lane. I only want to see audio that is Active.

Is there a way to make the active (soloed) 'track lane', the only take that displays on the track after you turn off the track lanes?

I'm surprised that is not default.

An example would be a guitar fills track.

1.  Record a few tracks of guitar fills on seperate lanes
2.  Pick the best parts and move them all to one final track lane.
3.  Start mixing the song and you see all sorts of clutter, clips that are not active, overlapping clips making it more difficult to edit the active clip...

Is there any reason for this multi-layer sandwitch of clips?

Looks like the best workaround is to move the final parts to a seperate track and copy the track parameters?

Using the method you describe, copying the result to a new track may be the best solution. This thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2708008 discusses an alternate method of comping that may be more suitable for take lanes.
