Where is the Help content for X2?

Where is the Help content for X2? Is it totally online?

Was there an installation option to install local verses on-line help?
If so I made the wrong choice.

The online Help is badly flawed - it is missing the most critical feature >>  Search Help.
And that flaw reduces it's usability 90%
Yes it has a table of contents and an index but many times what you're looking for is not listed and having a functional search tool would be quicker & less frustrating even if the item you were looking for was listed.

Also-
The Help  menu option for 'Down Load the Latest Help File' brings you to a web page where there are no Help files to download.

Yes it is in Preferences. Under Advanced "Always use offline help".

Search for the file: "SONAR X2 User Guide.pdf"

It extracted into a folder "Sonar X2 Documentation" on my system.

Or maybe John has the answer. Cakewalk calls help that you can summon from within the program from your local hard drive "online help," for some unknown reason. Others (Adobe Acrobat) for example call online help a link to the help system on their web servers.

    Hi John,

Thanks for the info. I found it but it doesn't make any difference - the online Help content is the only one that is coming up.

(I already had that option unselected)

What I'm saying is that I don't have the option to use online help set.
It is set to use local help.  If local help is working on your end then maybe I need to reinstall (unless there's a way to repair it).

You can just download the PDF.

I tossed it on my laptop. However the one that came with X2 is working fine here once I set it to offline. Cheers.

In X2 CW started "online help" this goes to the web site and there is the help. To have X2 not do that in other words use "offline help" one needs to go into preferences and select "Use offline Help". This will make X2 use the local help on you computer for X2.

The terms online and offline have meaning here.

Yeah... I forget the exact submenu you have to go to but it is Edit > Preferences > ??? > Uncheck "Always Use Online Help"  (or something similar to that) > Click "Apply".

If you have not done that that's why it's not working.

Thanks John.  I misread the option.  Works fine now.

Cakewalk should still fix the online help.
