Wish I'd picked another finger...

...cause the big old blood blister I made 2 days ago with the plastic mallet is right on my main pivot index digit and I wanna play guitar.

It kinda goes from being numb and devoid of feeling to feeling like it's on fire and has needles sticking in it.

Oh well, at least the finish carpentry is nearly done.

:-)

The funny thing, for em, is that this particular blister is misshapen and extra numb because there is a 20 year old knife blade scar sitting right in the middle of it.

:-)

I usually do what you are saying... just find another way to play... it's just hard to avoid that particular finger.

I know what you're saying all to well Mike.

Glad you're not letting music stop you from living.
I feel the same way.

Sorry to hear that Mike. The good news is that if it isn't too serious within two weeks and you will be back in buisness.

Mike...when did they start letting you play with sharp things again?

I knew a guy who refused to use power tools because he was lazy and didn't really want to do any manual labor.... but he blamed it on not wanting to "cut his fingers off" with a circular saw.....

Man up..... pop it with a 16 penny nail and rub some dirt on it and go play that guitar....

Of course this only works if the finger isn't partially severed......

I hear you.  A few months back I tried to rout off a couple of finger tips on a big table router set up I have at work.  The skin is healed but I've got major nerve damage that leaves my right hand index finger feeling numb.  I had to change to playing bass with a pick because I can't feel the string until it hurts.

I'll never forget when I was a kid, my dad slammed his finger in the car door so bad that he took a drill and drilled into it to release the pressure. I'm kind of looking forward to doing it myself. How often do you have a legitimate reason to attack yourself with power tools?

I keep trying... but it keeps turning beet red when I go for the glissando.

Day by day.
