"All I Need Is your Photograph"

This a Re-mix with a new vocal of "All I Need Is your Photograph" I'm using Sonar X1.

I wrote this song about my girl friend at the time. When I look back on it, it seems I saw her way to little. I ended up living over an hour away from her when I took a new job. Her picture helped me get through that time away.

    Very nicely done, Terry.
Thanks Phil, It's always nice to hear. I'm always trying to complete a song the best i can, but I get to thinking about getting to other songs at the same time. That makes me wonder if I should have tryed harder on the song I'm working on. So little time, right?

Excellent lyrics! I really like the vocal delivery and the harmonies are tight. I guess if I had to nit I would bring the piano a smidge forward in the mix. GREAT JOB!

Nice sound -- vocal reminds me a little of Al Stewart :)  My nit is that leading from the verse (or prechorus) into the chorus it would have a better feel  if there was some percussion or instrumental lead-in to push it into the chorus.  Also, liked the strings coming in after the bridge.

I had some one on FaceBook tell me that he viewed the song as nothing more than a Demo. I must be fooling myself. looking for some help

    Terry,

Nice song.   If you are looking for suggestions, I would add a Soft Pad on the first verse.  This song has a nice retro 80's feel to it.  A few percussion fills here and there would add a nice touch.   Maybe a clave, some conga fills here and there.    Not personally a fan of the strings in this song except for the bit starting at 3:34 time frame.   I would use a Vintage Organ sound or a soft synth pad instead.  Maybe brighten up the hi-hats and cymbals a wee bit.  Quite enjoyable listen.

I love the tune.  For some reason I found myself wondering what this would sound like with half-time drums.  It wants to sound like a ballad but the drums are making it sound like it's had too much coffee or something.  :)  Maybe the 2nd time around it would work fine.  I'm certainly no expert on drums.  You might consider lowering the velocity on the piano track to give it a smoother feel too.

But overall, I really like this one!
