At that price, they're tempting, even if I own a few 1176 and 2A emulations.

Or maybe I could just grab the DBX...

Does anyone know if these plugs require iLock? I've had to pass on softube products before because I don't want the dongle.

For $115 the bundle seems to be a good value. I got the transient master update for free but I still want to buy a couple compressors and these may be better than the PC modules.

The previous version (the one which works in Guitar Rig) didn't. I see no mention of iLok in the requirements.

And yes, they're pretty good. If I didn't have CLA's 1176, I'd jump on this one. For $115 it's quite the bargain.

CLA's stuff is a lot more expensive. IK's White 2A and Black 76 are more reasonably priced, but still no bargain compared to NI's current promotion. Plus, while their White 2A is great, their Black 76 doesn't really cut it for me - it comes last on my list of 1176 emulation, behind CLA, NI and even the old Bomb Factory emulation.

    Nope, iLOk is NOT required.

This is great news!  These plugs are some of my favorites -- I think they're among Softube's best work -- and being free from the GR shell is icing on the cake.  At these prices, they're an excellent value.  I love the 2A on vocals, and the 160 is amazing on drums and bass.  And I don't think I've heard a better native 1176 emu.  Free demos available, so no excuse for not trying them out.

Still waiting for the Premium Tube series to go 50% off ... I think I love that Vari Comp.  Black Friday approacheth ...

Oooh...I might have to jump on these...I run enough of the DBX160 on my sad little UAD2 Solo card that this could free up some power. It's actually kind of funny that I need to run more native plugs to free-up my DSP solution...

Did anyone grab these? I'm really tempted since the PC2A is still $80.

I grabbed the VC 160 after testing the demo on various instruments. I purchased it after hearing what it did to my kick and bass tracks. Great punch and attack. A great deal at $59. I skipped the other compressors since I'm very happy with the pro channel versions I alreday have.

    Peace!
