can't freeze ezdrummer

Hi all,
When I highlight the track that contains my ezdrummer track and select "freeze synth", my sonar x1 says "mixing down audio", and the track freezes with a "(busy)" message. It was left like this all night with no audio track ever being created. 
Any ideas? Am I missing something?
