Head Phone monitor

I am using Sonar X1 with a Roland Octa-Capture. I can monitor everything through the headphones, except that I cant hear the input microphone or instrument through the phones. I am sure it is something simple I am missing, but I have been trying for days. Thanks for any assistance.

never used the Octa so I am probably no help, but do the Direct Mixer knob and the Phones+Mains button not help?

There's a balance control on the front panel of my quad capture. It lets me blend the playback audio and live input. If rotated hard left or hard right I only hear input or playback. Centering this control should give you both.

Yes, that is the Direct Mixer knob also referred in the above reply. That should be the way to do it. Also the manual indicates that. However, that just doesnt work. So I am thinking it might be a setting or something that I am not aware of.

Thank you both for your replies. The Input Echo button on the Audio Strips has to be turned on. "This button can be turned on or off, and it activates or deactivates the input monitoring feature." It only took me a day, but I finally found that. Anyway, thanks again.
