V-Vocal simultaneously picked up multiple tracks

I never saw this one before. I recorded two background vocal tracks from the same singer. I then wanted to touch up the pitch in each track. When I right-clicked on one track to select "create a V-Vocal clip, ," both tracks were selected. I tried this again, carefully only highlighting one track before making the selection, but it happened again. Has anyone run into this? Does anyone have an explanation or solution? Thanks.

Dean L. Surkin - Steinway A (1902, rebuilt 1988), Kawai MP8, Yamaha KX-76; Intel i7-4770K, 32GB, RME AIO; HP ZR30w (great monitor!); Sonar Platinum, Garritan JABB3 and GPO4, VB3
One day, when I have the time, I will learn how to use all the features of Cakewalk 2.0. Oh, wait, Sonar 8.5. What did you say? Sonar version what?

Okay, I think I found a work-around from another post: delete all the take lanes except for one in each vocal track, and then it works. Muting the take lanes causes Sonar to pick up every track in the same folder.
