One track sample from live recording -

Several weeks ago, many of you posted help on the Techniques forum about my recording a band live at a club. I appreciate all the posts. Here is a sample track from that, with some rough processing of the raw take....crowd noise was obviously a factor. I hope some can listen in and comment. I went from their mixer's direct outs for all the "house mics", but added my own overhead mic on the drums..direct through my smaller 10 channel Yamaha mixer, and all to my two channel interface. Some L/mono mixer channels pushed drums stronger to one side, so in processing I split the R&L channels for independent processing. Used Channel Tool "widen" preset, which I thought really helped... This is a great song and a good performance by the band.  I appreciate the difficulty of recording a live performance because I've done it many times.  The main thing I noticed was that the panning wasn't balanced on my system.  The lead vocal was in the left channel, and information in the right channel was light.  If this song was well mastered it might help in several ways, such as bringing the overall volume level up.  Nevertheless, it's still a good song and recording.

    All the best,
    Lynn

Thanks Lynn. These have not been mastered yet and I appreciate the second ears... and the kuddos. I will examine what you said about it. I had only mixed that in my phones so far.
