Separate MIDI tracks?

I'm wanting to use the TTS1
EG I want a horn on track 1 and, say, a piano on track 2
What is the simplest way to do this?

I assumed you would do the first track thru the browser(did that no problem) and subsequent tracks thru right clicking, making a MIDI track (did that and recorded a second track) and then change its parameters to read channel 2 in the TTS1. (can't do this part)
IOW I can't make the second track change instruments to channel 2 of TTS1.

Maybe I'm all confused about the TTS1 having 16 tracks and so thinking one instance should feed 16 midi tracks? Otherwise why have 16 trax?

Is it better to have several TTS1's in the Browser, one for each track?

I guess I'm confused about the "Instrument track" it makes automatically (track 1) compared with a MIDI track (track 2) one makes by right clicking in the Track View.
And how to change track 2 to channel 2 in the TTS1

What you're asking can be done, but it's definitely easier to just use a separate instance for each sound. Check out this video... it focuses on the DreamStation, but the info that it provides can be used with other synths...

This is a bit confusing to me because the standard browser install uses an instrument track automatically.
Would you add audio tracks and use the FX area to link to separate instances of TTS1?
Does the MIDI keyboard work with this?

I think I could use a point by point for recording a couple of tracks.
EG the simple "multiple instance" version would be
1.Browser -Insert synth 1
2.Change the first instrument to desired.(Left click on the name in the TTS)
3.Play and record with keyboard.
4.Browser insert synth #2
5.Change the first instrument to what ever desired
6. record new instrument?

If someone had the time,  I'd be interested in a similar point by point for using one instance of TTS1 and figuring out how to do the channel and other setting changes on separate tracks (MIDI? Instrument?Audio?)for the TTS1 .

Believe it or not its simple when you know how. 

On every MIDI track (be sure to have the track inspector visible) you will see a widget for channel. This is used when you have a synth like TTS-1. and you want to use more than one patch on it. 

Make sure that that tracks out goes to the TTS-1 and the channel is set to, for now 1. 

Insert a new MIDI track and do the same with the channel except set it to 2. The out should be TTS-1. 

Either record MIDI to those tracks or use loops. For now I would just drag a loop for lead to the MIDI track that is channel 1 and a bass loop to the track that is channel 2. 

On the TTS-1 on the first channel select piano on the second channel select a bass.  Play the loops.  You should hear piano and bass coming out.

John, so in this case you 
1.right click the Track Header pane and choose Insert MIDI track.

2.go to the Inspector pane and for the track input you leave at Omni and 
3. For Output you choose the TTS1 synth, then,
4. in the "widget" (The vertical section to the right?It has Quantize and arpeggiator on it) you choose Channel 2?
There must be something else.
When I play this track with the keyboard, it is still playing the first channel in the synth.

Oh and obviously you have to make sure that the MIDI notes are actually in the right spot of the PRV to trigger the sounds you want.
