Demo version is huge. request application only download version please.

...its something like 1.5GB - is that really necessary for a demo version? Please note that some competitor demos are between 5-100MB. Can we get an application only demo of Sonar please?

Earlier trial versions of Sonar did not include much aside from the main application.  Unfortunately this was confusing for newbies, who would come to this forum for advice on where to begin and were typically advised to try inserting one of the softsynths such as TTS-1.  But of course TTS-1 was never included.

My first introduction to DAW software was with the trial version of Sonar 6PE. I'd had no experience of any similar software before and I didn't know where to start. There was only one softsynth included with it, PSYN II, which looked a bit daunting to me at the time. I didn't get very far with Sonar until after I installed some freeby VSTs.

Back then, Cakewalk used the excuse that to include plugins and sample content would make the overall size too big for download.  But nowadays a download size of 1.5GB seems to be regarded as acceptable.  Howewer, I agree with you that they should provide the option to include or exclude the bundled stuff.
