sorry Jonesy . just reminded of that accordian joke.. a drunk man leaves his accordian in the back seat of his car overnight in a rough area.. sure enough when he get up next day and goes back to his car, the back window of his car has been smashed - and on the back seat there are 2 accordians..sorry couldn't resist

Mike, that is definitely overkill for the limited use I need out of it, but it's quite a fabulous range, no mistake.

Laney, I'll check that link out when I get home - I'm getting "access denied" here in work

    Thanks both!

I have THIS BY BEST SERVICES , it runs in Kontakt. and it uses skripting.

The most realistic I have used so far.

Also the accordian in EW Gypsy is pretty realistic, and you get other instruments as a bonus..

BTW I have the Roland V Accordian, and unless you are an accordian player, mastering the bellows is a PITA.

Yeah I've never even attempted to play one, so it has to be virtual all the way.

The best services one looks interesting - and cheap! And I'd forgotten about EWQL Gypsy, which is about 3 times more expensive than Best Services.

    ARE YOU READING THIS SANTA????

What do you think of the accordion in this track? I think it sounds acceptable, even though it's just from the lowly SampleTank. (Accordion comes in around 2:30; the accordion-like background prior to that is the hurdy-gurdy from SampleTank.)

Ah, can't listen to it here Dave - I'll listen in a couple of hours when I get home.

And that reminds me, I have ST kicking around somewhere, I never bothered to install it on my new machine. (Can I face that AWFUL UI again though???)

It's surprising how often I keep finding little goodies in ST even after all this time. Even though it's dated, has a horrid UI and isn't up to current standards of audio quality, many of the sounds in there are just so easy to drop into a mix with minimal tweaking. That whole song came about because I was poking around in ST one day, found that hurdy-gurdy patch and thought it would fit nicely into a medieval folk-rock tune a la Blackmore's Night.

Oh but OB 1 Kanobe promises us ST3 is around the corner, so stay tuned. I hope the GUI is phooey ...

Bit that's a lovely little song, and the accordion fits in perfectly.

Time to find my ST files
