VST removal

I've been trying out a few of the free VSTs on the internet, and want to remove the ones I won't ever use. What is the best way to do this to ensure all the "components" are gone? Is there a feature in HS6 or should I delete the VST in the Cakewalk program folder? Or should I be doing something another way? Having played with quite a few it's now slowing down loading HS6 start-up!!

if they had an install program then use the uninstall to get rid of them.  if they didn't, just delete the dll from the VST folder.

By default, SHS6 (and other Sonar versions) scans for VSTs every time you start it up.
To stop this, go to Options>Global Options> VST Plug-Ins.
Uncheck Scan For VST Plug-ins On Startup.

You can delete the VSTs if you want, but this is the best way to speed up your start-up time.

Once the VSTs are registered in the Plug-in Manager, there is no need to re-scan them.
Just manually run the scan whenever you do add a new plug-in.

Thank you Beagle and Robert B, I've used both your suggestions, which did the trick perfectly and speeded up the start-up. I no longer need to launch SHS6 and then have time to go and make a cup of coffee!
