Any dance music producers using Sonar??

I wouldn't call myself a "dance music producer" as such, but most of what I'm working on is in the electro/techno genre. I don't think there's any reason why Sonar can't be used for EDM, although that doesn't seem to be its core user base. 

I started off using Pro Tools and managed to knock out some electro stuff with that....but just for the record, Sonar is way superior than Pro Tools for the genre in my opinion. My stuff tends to accumulate an insane number of plugs pretty quickly, as well as a lot of Kontakt instruments, and Pro Tools would choke on a third of what X2 64-bit is running smoothly for me. I'm also finding the work flow better, the ProChannel makes it much easier to get a good sound than it was for me in Pro Tools, and I'm also loving things like the step sequencer and groove clips etc. Haven't really investigated the Matrix get but from what I've seen of it, that is going to be useful for dance music producers as well. 

I don't know, if you go on a forum like GearSlutz they will probably tell you that there are better DAW's out there for dance music, that Cubase is better for VSTi's and MIDI, that it's easier to get songs up and running in Reason etc, but for me, Sonar seemed to have a nice balance between audio tracking and MIDI, and I plan to record some acoustic stuff as well. I may well investigate Cubase et all in the future, who knows....but right now I am invested in Sonar, it's working out well for me, I'm loving the sound that I'm getting out of it and apart from anything I just cannot afford to be a multi-DAW person (not to mention the time it takes to learn a new one). 

Someone posted a really good trance tune made with Sonar a few weeks ago, not that I can find it again. 

Although not dance music I use Sonar exclusively to compose electronic music and sometimes incorporate a bit of video work. Many years ago I switched from Cubase to Sonar, around about the time sonar 5 was released, and have never looked back.

POP, dance and electronic, Film scoring, TV & other Media. 

Yes, I am 99% midi and do eletronic music and bit of piano and orchestration. Played with demo of abelton and FL but still find Sonar's workflow easier for me. The prochannel is a winner, the PRV with with smartool, Z3ta+2, rapture and diamension synths, Console emulation, and Breverb and stuff that I love. 

Yep +1 for Dance / Rock and eletro pop
