SONAR 8.5 How do I Access MIDI controller info?

In Sonar 3 it was so easy.

With SONAR 8.5 (64 bit ver on Win 7 - no other issues, and it works great) when I am in the piano roll view, at the bottom is a window where you used to be able to control Velocity, Aftertouch, Pitch Wheel, mod wheel, by "drawing" bars up and down at each note event.  But in this 8.5 version all I can get to is "Velocity".  Hitting the plus sign only adds another window with Velocity again.  You cant change it to a different controller. Why can I not access pitch and mod wheel windows like I can with velocity? I really need to control a VST's B3 Leslie speed, which is tied to the mod wheel.  Like I say, in Sonar 3 it worked perfectly, here in V8.5, cant get to that.  Am I missing something basic?

Dropdown list in the upper-left of the PRV adds a new controller to the lower pane. You can show as many as will fit.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

If by PRV, you mean the pane on the left lower side, I can see velocity shows up there by default, but when I press the + sign to add another it simply duplicates the velocity pane - same info and there is no way that I can see to change it to say, mod wheel, or anything else for that matter, just endless windows showing velocity.

As for the event viewer, it wont let me edit or insert any events.  I have to add them using the piano view.  It will only put up note events.  - I'm wondering if this may be a MIDI driver issue?  I used to be able to do all this stuff in SONAR 3.5,  I could insert an event, choose its type, and all that - so I kind of know how it should work, unless there had been some dramatic lurch in the methodology.

The 8.5 just doesnt let me do any type of that editing.  Ive tried inserting a "note" event using the piano view, then going to event viewer and changing it, and there is simply no way for me to type over the event type.  I can change the value Number of the note, and its duration but not the  actual type, its like I'm missing the editing functions in the software itself.  Or I have something clicked that is disabling that functionality,  I have been all over help and there simply isnt anything to describe what I'm experiencing.   Frustrating, caus I have some tracks that could really sound great with a little expression.

So you know, some of these projects were migrated from Cakewalk Projects as bundles from Sonar 3.5 - but it lost a lot of MIDI data when I unbundled them, I have had to reprogram the parts, wich takes me hours. The Audio in the bundles survived just fine.  I have also tried creating projects from scratch, and I still have the same MIDI controller issue with those, so I doubt its the unbundle.   I did go from 3.5 producer to 8.5 studio, but certainly, you can edit midi events in the studio version of SONAR - right?  That would be totally messed up if they forced me to buy producer.  I'm not spending another nickle on a new version of SONAR until I get it working like it should.
