Edited regions of audio inexplicably shrunk to nothing

I have a recording project where I've 'comped' together 'perfect' takes from several good ones, problem is, when I opened it again, every bit that had been edited had shrunk to nothing. Like if the regions had still been selected and I'd gone to adjust different regions and resized them to Nothing by accident but across the entire project of multiple songs and brackets of audio, worked on at different points in time (maybe I did the accidental resize thing Lots of times). Anyway, this is a disaster as the band and I spent a good afternoon comping together our good takes. What can I do to salvage? (Already tried opening autosaved copies, no glory.)

I don't understand? If it's just a visual change then use the little magnifier and make it bigger. A DAW records and manipulates the audio, The audio will still be there, your just not seeing it. Change the view.

Nah, not vertically, horizontally, the regions had been edited into sections that were waifer thin. I still don't know why but I have sneaking suspicions that various edited regions remained selected as I went about my day resizing new regions (and were thusly resized by accident to nothing). Very, very bothersome. Fixed now but I there weren't any shortcuts *glowers*
