Anyone Found a Solution to BitBridge Issues in Sonar 64-Bit Versions?

Hello--

I switched platforms from Win XP 32-bit to Win 7 64-bit for my DAW recently, and from Sonar 8 32-bit to 64-bit at the same time. I have to say that so far, the XP install had been more stable. In fact, the only reason I did the upgrade was to accomodate new plugins that needed more RAM.

I seem the be having bitbridge issues. One of them is that it (the bitbridge process) freezes and I have to kill them manually after I have to kill Sonar. In one instance, I got a message that the project couldn't find the True Piano plug in that was working fine before.

I've looked online for fixes or maybe updates, and I seem to be getting more registry cleaner results than anything else.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm putting off upgrading Sonar because of money and am in the middle of a couple projects that have deadlines and don't want to make the switch yet.

Thank you!

Stephen Davis

I did a similar thing to you.
There seems to be a problem with an application called "teleport server".
I have no problems running True Piano with no effects.
That makes sense since it is a 64-bit application. (see where it is installed)
Teleport server only runs when you use a 32-bit plugin inside of Sonar.
I have not yet had an issue with it crashing while I was working in Sonar, but I have noticed that when closing Sonar I get an error message.
I have yet to contact Cakewalk about this issue.

There is another 3rd party bridging app called Jbridge. Some say it's better than bitbridge.

Thanks. I did have reverb on the True Pianos. I heared about jBridge. Would like to learn more about it before doing the install.

Does anyone know when the 64bit version truepianos amber started shipping with SONAR? The SONAR X series runs the 64bit version. No need for bitbridge.

Oops, didn't notice that timidi already shared a link for jbridge.
    Well worth the money!

I read up on the jBridge and it looks pretty good--especially for the money. They suggest I try out the demo before buying it. As I mentioned, I'm in the middle of two projects and wondered if I install it, it doesn't work and I uninstall it if I might have more problems?

Hard to know unless I try the demo, but wondered if anyone here had an experience with that? Is it better to just deal with the lame bitbridge until I'm done with my projects and try the jbridge demo then?

    Thanks again!

Well I have Sonar 8.3 and it has the 64-bit version. I know that Sonar 6 did not have True Piano so it was probably an addition to Sonar 7.

If SONAR 8 comes with 64bit Truepianos Amber, that should solve the issues of using bitbridge with Truepianos. There is no need to run the 32bit version in bitbridge. Install and use the 64bit version of Truepianos.
