Can you not temporarily shift your partition boundaries to give yourself more space on C:? Should be pretty easy to do in Windows.

win xp, intel core2duo, i have splitted my 500 Go hard drive in 2 partitions.

C: 12 Go (system, windows xp), easier to make acronis image, i run that xp almost for 10 years without formating, all is still running good. i dont want to format because lots of works on it (10 years).
and, my D:, the rest of the 2nd partition (Programs). something like 450 Go.

usually i have no problems installing programs. it should ask where i should extract it.

I'd agree, it should ask where to extract. I'm running a 64GB SSD as my system drive and i had the same issue when installing X2. luckily i only needed to find 700ish MB of space, so an IE and temp file cleanup just gave me enough space, but if i had needed a few GBs then i'm not sure what i would have done.

    Thanks

If you are installing from the download installers, you can manually extract the files to another location with a tool like 7-Zip (I believe the installers are self-extracting RAR files). Then run setup. BTW, you do know that you will not be able to update X2 as long as you run it on XP.

Do not change the extension, leave it as an exe. If winrar does not extract files from selfextracting RARs, use 7-Zip (I know it works).

And I can vouch for Winzip - make sure you run them As Administrator
