Midi Playback Speed

I have a project I'm working in, and I've inserted a midi track controlling Steven Slate Drums 3. When I play the drums on my keyboard, they are right on time with the click. But, when I play it back with the song it's like the drum midi goes into a time warp and everything is played twice as fast. If I solo only the synth and midi track, they play at the right time, but if I take the solo off, they go way off time again. Any ideas?

    Just off the top - is there something with the default tempo? I mean, that's really the only thing that could modify midi playback speed that I know of. How it got to where it is I can't imagine, but try checking tempo - it's easy enough.

    In X2 (not sure what it is in 8.3)

    Edit -> Preferences -> Project -> Clock.
    Is clocck source set to audio ?

    Also disable all you MIDI inputs for the tracks (Channel=none).

    Unplug any MIDI cables not needed.
    Check the MIDI clock settings of the drum machine, and the driver settings assuming it is being played back live from Cakewalk.

    Cheers..

    Is there a tempo change event in one of the tracks that is played when solo is off?

    sounds like you need to go through your preference menu and check your midi buffers

    And make sure the Tascam is set as both playback and record Timing Master in audio preferences.
