This is a bit cheeky but has anyone else tried loading SynthMaster CM from Computer Music?

Hi

This is a bit naughty asking here but I don't know if this is an X2 problem, Windows 8 problem or just a plugin problem.
I've tried installing the above synth into X2 and it appears to do all of the expecting things when it installs (initialising the wavetables etc) but when it is running there is next to zero things that actually work. No waves (oscillators) other than sine can be selected, clicking on something may or may not change it but if something does change then that's the last time it will.

I realise that I get my copy of CM mag early but I know I'm not the only one around here so if any other subscribers try out the synth can they please let me know how it went. Cheers.

Grum.

No, it's not just you... My experience of it is the same. Not sure where the issue is, but I suspect the plugin.

    Cheers.

Thanks for checking this (I thought my thread had died a death). I've had a reply from the makers of the plugin and they said to ensure I'm using admin rights to install it. I haven't had a chance to try (yet) again but I will and I'll report back.
    Mucho thanko.

Apparently there's now an updated version - 1.0.4.5 - but when you click OK to 'download and install the latest version' it opens the version 2.5 Download Updates page...

The URL contains a reference to SynthMasterCM, so there's hope someone will update the website and it will work eventually:

Yeah, been there, tried that .
I've replied to the support's email so we'll see what comes of this but it's on the back burner for now (for me).

Quick update: The supplier sorted out a link to download a different version which has cured the problem. You have to love support that does things in a timely manner (I had the email a couple of days ago but I missed it due to the complexities of the new email in Windows 8!!!).

My only problem now is Sonar just loves to stop mid flow ("Not Responding") when I'm playing things in it. It isn't this new plugin as it died yesterday when rewired to Reason and it has stopped several times tonight. It isn't generating a crash log as it isn't crashing....it just stops .

Frankly, it is getting on my tits.

Are you allowed to share the link? The one above is still not working. There's a thread on CM's facebook page relating to this; it's not a problem restricted to SONAR.

Haven't loaded that one... there's so many I'd go crazy trying to keep up with all vsts/vstis.  I've had a couple bad ones over the years from them.  The 8 or so I loaded work OK in X2.

I'm not sure of the shareability of the file so I wouldn't just put it out into internet land.
As the company are aware of the problem I'm sure they will make a/the file available to all soon enough.

Edit: I've just checked my mail: Try this http://vault.computermusic.co.uk/

OK, just checked there. It still contains the same version as the DVD... I'll just have to wait.

    Thanks.
