The Christmas Song - fingerstyle jazz arrangement
Hi Everyone, Just wanted to share a recording that I made several years back of a solo guitar arrangement of "The Christmas Song" It's always been one of my favorite Christmas tunes, and it makes a great solo guitar piece. Here is a link to the stream: http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=4784588 Thanks for listening -- Jim

yep.... I agree.... I like this kind of playing.... I tell myself.... maybe one day I will start on learning to play like that, but there are so many other things to do..... so for now.... I am content to listen to your skills on this tune. Well done.

Thanks so much for the nice comments everyone! I can't take credit for this arrangement. I learned it from my guitar instructor from my younger years, my only addition to the arrangement is the Jingle Bells ending but the rest of it is his. I really like the harmony in these chord changes through the whole tune. I dust off this song every year and re-learn it for the holidays because I like it so much. I've tried to arrange a new Christmas tune every year if I can. --Jim

notnat Very good... great touch & tone... lovely arrangement & performance... tell me about that cool Telecaster... Thanks notnat! I bought that Telecaster style guitar from a company based in Austin, Tx. called Textone guitars. http://textoneguitars.com/ I found them at a guitar show and loved the sound of their guitars so much I bought one. That Tele has a chambered body and TV Jones Filtertrons (with a Bigsby) so it sounds very Gretsch like, but feels more like a standard Tele. I use that guitar with a group that I currently play with that does a lot of 50s/60s music. Great for surf, country, rockabilly, etc.
