AAF support - please!

Hello,

I would join in with the AVID users in this request: can we please get AAF support for SONAR 8.5 ???

I am not an AVID user, I am an Auria user, but at the moment, because SONAR doesn't support AAF, I cannot move projects between my mobile device (AURIA) and my DAW (SONAR 8.5).

So now we have another group, Auria users, who want AAF support - can you please do this for us???

Thank you

Sonar 8.5, is a legacy version and upgrades stopped over 3 years ago. If you want any upgrades you need to follow the products evolution and not be 3 years behind. It is now X2 where all upgrades will take place.

    Hello,

Normally, I would say "thank you for your reply" but in this case, I will not.

I would note, your reply is right out of order, it's presumptive, it's holier than thou, it intimates that I am an idiot for using an older product.
Did it ever, for one tiny moment, occur to you, that for example, I CANNOT afford X2?

Just because you can afford it, and just because you feel it's (for some unknown reason) some kind of Holy Imperative that "thou shalt always have the latest version, or thou aren't cool" - well, I don't buy into it.

Your reply makes me NEVER want X2 (which from what I understand, is not the perfect experience that we all dreamed of) and to be honest, I am very, very happy with Version 8.5.  I know it's three years old, I know that X2 is the current version - and for you to assume I am an idiot, to automatically assume I am as stupid as a rock - well, that's rude, and I would say an apology is in order.

Tell you what.  You send me the money, and I will buy X2.

One more thing.  You shouldn't always assume that all users are created equal.  I have a physical disability that makes my day to day life a seriously painful experience.  Learning a completely designed GUI is not something I have a lot of time for, and, along with negative feedback I've heard about X2, along with my disability, along with not happening to be able to even afford X2 if I did want it - well, that SHOULD be a powerful argument for SONAR to provide some limited support for this "older product".

Yes, yes, I know that "three years" in software terms is like, 20 years out of date.  I will tell you what though, 8.5 is incredibly stable; I know it well, it works for my purposes, and frankly, the new features that X2 "offers" don't particularly interest me.
I don't need the extra bells and whistles, I need basic multitrack, and that's what I've got.

What software I run is MY business, and you have no right to suggest to me what I run or don't run.  Another case in point - word processing.  I use Office 2000 - Word 2000, because there are NO features of interest to me in any later versions - 2000 does the job - so tell me, my learned friend, WHY on earth would I waste my money on newer versions of Word?????

    Answer: I wouldn't.

Your message offended me, it makes me NEVER want to buy X2 to be frank.  Maybe it's time I move to ProTools, which, let's face it, despite the success of SONAR, is still the original.  Or Cubase.  Or Logic.

    Or - SONAR 8.5.

It's my choice.  The fact that SONAR won't consider supporting something only a few years old - in my opinion - is a bad business decision, and it will cost them customers, myself probably among them.

    Oh well.

    have a nice time

    Dave
