Sonar 7 to X2 i`m moving

Hi all I just want to say hello to everybody cause I`m planning to move from sonar 7 to  X2 early next year so probably I`ll be asking some questions then,I know this is the perfect place for  that cause i always solved all my problems here  .Nice to be back.
Recording is not only a technical thing,it`s a creative process, when you have the ears to do it.

Peace.

Charlie

I would get the trial, and you can mess about with it for 1 month ? I guess. the interface is a big change.. so it might be helpful to give you a primer before you buy

Seriously thought about sticking with V7 back in the day. It was completely stable and it did everything I could imagine I needed to do at the time... Of course, the Cakewalk sales soon corrupted me and I've continued to upgrade to every version since without regret...

For me, X2 was like buying a smartphone. Once you have one, it's hard to imagine life without it.
    Welcome back!

Yeah 7 Was a rickety mistress. 8 and 8.5 was like very stable for me.

X2 - Yeah download the demo It's great but will likely throw you for a loop coming from 7

You gotta buy a book (like Sonar X2 powered coming soon) and some tutorial videos, spend an hour or two a day educating yourself for 2 to 4 weeks.. Then all is good. Don't use X2 in production until the next service pack comes out  I suggest.

Thanks to all,I`ve been doing this since Pro Audio 8,i tend to skip one upgrade each year. This time it took me a little longer but I always have two machines working together for 3 or 4 months when I`m changing.
Here we do alot of productions,we cant take any risks.

    Peace

Yep -V7 was a nightmare for me, it was my personal "X1".

There's a bit of a learning curve involved transitioning from the 'old' to the 'new'. My advice is don't fight the program by insisting on trying to do things the 'old' way, try the new way. You'll probably have a few WTF moments but stick with it for a while and then you'll probably have a "Eureka" moment when it all makes sense.

Then you'll discover screensets........At that point you'll start to wonder how on earth you've stuck with and managed with the 'old' Sonar for so long.

That's how it was for me anyway. Remember there's plenty of help with the transition available here.
