Pay Pal!!! Damn Them to Hades

I had removed my link to my Bank from my PP account, due to some articles I read, plus just an uneasy feeling about them. I retained my CC info with them.

I had many transactions with them after I submitted to their credit limit ceiling song and dance.

I had not purchased anything through PP since I removed my bank info.

I just went to complete a pay pal purchase and guess what, same old crap about linking my bank information again.

I still have my card linked, but thats not enough...

To the dark pit of Hell with you , pay pal

I know what you mean. I tend not to worry about linking my bank account to them however, because there's nothing in it.

On a side note, there's a Paypal scam email going around, it's very convincing looking, telling you you've made a payment to someone. The email looks almost exactly like a real Paypal one, apart from the fact that Paypal will only address you by name, not 'Dear Customer', and you can just see that the logo has been dropped in as a bitmap.

I'm guessing they want you to click on the 'transaction ID' link, which I didn't.

I'm currently using this approach as well...  *Sigh*

I have successfully avoided using PayPal all these years.  I've heard too many horror stories about them.

I'm content to live out my life without such high tech fluffery.  I'm also not sure if this "fire" thing is going to catch on, either.

I'm going to go back inside and scratch stick figures into the wall of my cave for no apparent reason.

I only use paypal for small sums that I wouldn't care about if I got screwed <50$

Why you would give up all the security that your bank offers by using paypal which can and will screw you at any time with no way to do anything about it and being totally at their mercy, and not your credit card is beyond me.

Anything wrong with online purchase? Chargeback and new card issued, money back in your account next day, let the bank deal with it. It also means that  if someone gets a lot of chargebacks they get fined and dropped if it continues.

These days I haven't had to buy anything anywhere that didn't have all the major CC options, if they can't be bothered to set that up you probably don't want to do any major business with them anyway.
