resetting MIDI data

Can't remember how I used to do it, but not sure it's the same in Sonar x1 as SHS 6.

When I import a midi piece I get from online, and then start trying to mix it and adjust it using TTS-1 or whatever-it usually goes back to the original data, whenever I start it from the beginning. Like I'll try to change a virtual instrument-strings, guitar, piano, whatever IN the TTS plug-in and it just goes back to how whoever made it-to those original settings. But I know there's a  general way you can reset the whole thing somehow. Just not sure what you need to do. I tried playing around with it in the options box I think and tried checking or unchecking "tone remain," or something else.

There should be some thing to do that will reset everything-so that you can pick whatever instruments you want and it just stays there(in the TTS-1 box).

The way I found around that is going to the track area and just changing the tone in there to whatever you want and it will stay to what you change it. That's a way to do it individually.

I would imagine that there are patch changes within the MIDI file/tracks. Use the event list to find and delete them.
