THE BEST CHRISTMAS
This is a song that has been a project since last Christmas. It is a co-write with Darin Martin. He sent me the lyrics in rough form and we started it last December. Then it sat for about 4 months. We started back on it in the spring and finished it. I contacted Scotty and asked him to ask Buffer if he would be interested in singing it. Buffer agreed and Scotty did the vocal recording and mixing....and sent me the finished vocal track. Thanks to Scotty and Buffer for the help on the vocals, I think it really made this song...and of course to Darin for the lyrical idea. The song started out with 4 verses and was over or close to 5 minutes. I worked with a few folks in Nashville, bouncing it off them and getting ideas and the end result was a much shorter and to the point version which got a thumbs up in the end. I don't know how many re-writes we did before we recorded, but I know there were 3 major edits after the sessions to get to this version. here is the link to THE BEST CHRISTMAS >>>> http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11971116 Enjoy!!! It was a total labor of love doing this and great fun too. I also humbly ask that you click this link>>>> http://forum.recordingrev...tmas-51493/#post386155 since I have entered this song in a Christmas song contest. This is a very slick package. It sounds radio ready and could easily slip into heavy rotation on any number of all Christmas radio stations. Well done on writing and recording the next Christmas classic.

Lynn thanks.... I worked with some top songwriters in Nashville getting advice on the song itself and it got the nod of approval from them in the end. several re-writes and edits. Nashville is a hard place to get a door open, but I am working on pitching this song to the big publishers there and building connections. Heavy rotation sounds good to me.... all we need is the song to be heard and signed by the right person. I have plans this year to get to Nashville and meet with some folks there through the Nashville Songwriter's association to see about pitching this and another song that is ready to roll...

Yes Radio Ready is the word that comes to my mind too. What a project and colab and it turned out real cool, and the journey is not over yet like it seems, best wish in the contest and with Nashville.

I'm diggin this! Buffer usually sings in a lower register, he sounds really good singing in this range! (not as good as moi of course... But really good!) And the guitars and the bass are "rockin!" You put the assh in Nashville Herb!
