One very cool thing about the T-Racks upgrade...

Just received the e-mail and there's a tidbit of info which caught my attention.

"Plus if you own the extremely popular White 2A and Black 76 dynamic processors, the new T-RackS CS includes updated models with new, ultra-accurate input/output-stage modeling, and will satisfy even the most demanding vintage-gear connoisseurs."

I wouldn't call myself a demanding vintage gear connoisseur but it seems like IK did listen and addressed what was my biggest concern, w/ the Black-76 in particular.

Since I've been quite vocal about it, I feel that credit should be given where its due.

Kudos IK. Looking forward to the upgrade and that new channel strip.

    +1
And the 4 new processors and de-esser. It's a great upgrade deal. I have been wanting a good stand-alone de-esser.

Just saw this on FB from JRR Shop:

"You can now get the FULL version of IK Multimedia T-RackS CS Grand for $169.15 when you buy our T-RackS CS Grand Standard Upgrade + CSR Bundle with the "GROUP" coupon code.

If you already have T-RackS Deluxe, you can get the T-RackS CS Grand Deluxe Upgrade for $84.15 with the "GROUP" coupon code.

Finally, if you already have T-RackS Classic, Standard, Singles, or CSR, you can get the T-RackS CS Grand Standard Upgrade for $126.65 with the "GROUP" coupon code."

Another cool thing about the upgrade is that I can put the British Console strip on my screen and pretend that it's a LiteBrite!

They do sound a little different now, especially when driving them a little harder. My favorite of the new stuff has to be the British Channel though. Though the Quad Image and De-Esser are sweet.

Can't wait to put them to the test.

IMHO, they sounded absolutely fine when you din't try to push them, but it was hard to get enough gain reduction going on. I trust that w/ the gain issue fixed, the Black-76 could probably be the best native emulation out there.
And that british channel strip was on my wish list - I just never thought you guys would include such a thing in T-RacKs, because it isn't really mastering-related.

Having the whole channel strip into one plug-in (unlike NI's which is split into 2 components EQ+Dynamics) really is awesome.

Like some it seems, I too find the GUI a bit intense on the colors for my personal taste, but, hey, as long as it sounds and works great...

Can we use our jam points for the upgrade?
Does it matter whether we use CS or Deluxe? CS's menus are easier to read, even if they are still to small.

Not currently as the upgrade prices are discounted for the new release and the holidays. The British Channel sounds sweeeeet, judge it on the sound and I know you'll love it.

    I just tried it.

It's hard to be totally objective because I've always dug the SSL channel strip type of lay out so much, it seems to suit my way of working - one GUI, a couple of knobs and you make due w/ that.

But I'm liking what I hear.

Yeah, me too. Before this I have never really used an SSL styled channel strip and I haven't been able to NOT use this. I like having the EQ, HP/LP filters and compression all in 1 plug in.

Cool ain't it, X2 has 'em built in on every channel, in case you hadn't seen Sonar lately and forgotten what it looks like...

The Pro-Channel stuff sounds really good too although I must admit the UI doesn't have the garish toy-town charm of the IK product.  Which to my mind is a must have. Besides Logic users will love it if they need a bit of SSL emu stuff that doesn't already come in the box as supplied to Sonar users...

I can at least think of one Logic user who will certainly appreciate the fact that he can also use the British Channel plug-in Pro Tools or any other app. ;)

As for the GUI - I trust IK will eventually improve it, just like they've listened when people complained about the gain structure in the Black-76.

Yep, I agree they will make improvements to the look, I think if they are going to build a multi-department shopping mall on your very own desktop it will likely pay them to get it looking right.

I actually like the Custom Shop. I've just upgraded T-RackS from deluxe to grand. A matter of a few clicks and I'm all set.

I remember not so long ago mentioning that I'd like to see IK upgrade CSR and make it a bit like Amplitube, that is, w/ à la carte models. So that's a step in that direction.

Thanks for the kind words guys! :) The updates to the Black 76, White 2A, The Custom Shop and bringing CSR to 64 bit were all big projects and we're happy you guys are happy with our hard work. :)
