Controller Pads not working in X2

I've got an Axiom 61 key controller.  I understand little to nothing about how it works. It's plugged in, I can assign the knobs to and faders to controll CC and the such but other than that, I have no clue about it. Anyway,  the pad section seems to have no effect. They work fine in Reason 6.5. I hit pad, boom sound!

It says I have no control surface in Sonar. Not real sure what that's all about either.

I have the step sequencer engaged in Sonar. I can hit the pads and see the lights eluminates just like when I strike a key.  It just doesn't produce sound. I'd like this to work so I can do some drum stuff with them.  Can't do drumming on the keys! lol

Any suggs would be great!

Have you gone through the actual Sonar control surface setup process?

Also, have you checked to see if the mfg. website has any documentation concerning using that particular controller with Sonar?

yeah I did. I have it set up. Or to the best of my knowledge. I'm watching some videos. That's probably going to work for me. Thanks!

what axiom ? v1 or the later white ones ?

you can look here regarding setting it up.. there are x-amount of thread about it..

but you might wanna try setting ya base octave to -1 in pref's :) DEPENDING on the synth you use and what not they are triggering..

remember m-audio were "in" with propellerheads... to a point where I had to wait a month *AFTER* release along with 400 others to get v4 , thanks to m-audio's WOEFUL distribution of it

there is a setting you can use in reason, in the midi patch part of it IRC. not been using my axiom rewired for a while , so a bit rusty.

What I did with X1 (and 8.5 before that) was to set the Axiom up (not in Sonar) so that each pad would correspond to a midi note (key).  There are instructions for how to do that in the Axiom manual.

In other words I set P1 to play midi note C3 (I think) for my kick.
