Files taking forever to load.
Hey Folks. I'm having an issue with opening files. Some open right away, all plugins, automation etc in place and working. Other files, recorded on the same day, processed with the same plugins etc, take a VERY long ti,e to open. I've also noticed this on other files recorded at different times. The one I'm trying to open now is still "thinking" one hour after I asked to open it. Using X1 producer edition with all the updates on a Windows 7, AMD Athlon X2 computer, 4G RAM, external hard drive to store files. Tascam US-1800 interface. ANY help would be appreciated! Thanks Dave a

If you have Session Drummer as a plugin, or some other plugin that needs to load a LARGE amount of data, those cwp files will take a while to open. It only sux when the file won't open at all!!!! Slow is ok....

Daveny, they are project files, CWP. Timeking, all audio tracks, no MIDI or synths at all. Still waiting for it to open, what 3 hours later. Shutting down and I'll have to start over (hate that!).......... Ciao, Dave

Well obviously, something went wrong in that project or you have a bunch of audio snap and/or vocal clips trying to load. I would check your back-up project to see if it does the same thing as this one. also, try opening it in safe mode, but i would refer to your back-up as this will rule out corruption right away.

Thanks boys. Good thing - these audio files are copied from a larger file into smaller segments. I'll redo them all. 13 songs/7 tracks per song - all audio - AND I wrote down all my plugins and settings. Just time wasted to re-edit and re-place all the plugins - that's the P!$$ O##! On we go............
