X1 patch links not working on website
I am going to have to format my drive and reinstall everything, since I am upgrading cpu/mb, so am trying to prepare for that most unpleasant task by getting stuff together. I cannot download the x1d patch (nor any other patch) off the Cakewalk website patch page. I have booted up my laptop, and it won't work either (no download). I don't know what is up with that. Is there another way (alternate link, ftp address) that I can get at these patches?

Won't work for me using same link you did, and I am attempting same download from 2 different computers, one running XP and the other Win7. I can download off other sites no problemo. Bit confused... I am trying to get x1d producer expanded patch.

I just fired up a 3rd computer, and same deal, x1dexpanded won't download, just stalls. What is up with that?!? I started trying to get this yesterday morning with no luck. I have had no problem downloading my asus video drivers, drivers for my m-audio and midi card, plus a bunch of other stuff from other sites. Only experience this problem from the Cakewalk site. Would someone email me the .exe? I have no size limit on email.

Iexplorer running on all 3 computers. It seems insane that I would have to install another browser just to be able to download a patch!!! If I wasn't able to download all sorts of other crap, then I would think something was wrong with my system. But it is only the patches on the Cakewalk site. It is now Sunday evening ... day 3 ... I am drinking Red Stripe now.

I installed Mozilla and it downloaded fine. wtf-ever dudes!! I also found out that IExplorer saves every site you ever went to ever since you last installed the operating system in hidden files called index.dat. I had 18 of them!!! These retain all info about your activity even if you clear your cookies and delete history. Velly interesting, comrades. Ach tung!! Even though I booted to safe mode and came up in command mode, and issued the "del index.dat /s" command, IExplorer still wouldn't download the patches. Dammit. At least now I don't have a file on my computer a hacker could use to find out stuff I'd rather not let be known. So I guess in my clean install upcoming next week, I won't be using IExplorer anymore.

IE sucks and is very unsecure. The reason you were having problems is likely because IE does not have an integrated download manager. Firefox does. You can get separate download managers if you intend to use IE again in the future for your downloads but I couldn't tell you any good ones because I haven't had any need. Been on FF for years. Cheers.

Oh and if you want to completely clear your internet cache you can download a program called CCleaner from a site called CNET.com It does a whole bunch of other useful stuff too like properly uninstall programs that Windows uninstall or the uninstallers included with programs sometimes won't do. Those methods tend to leave extra unwanted/uneeded gack behind. CCleaner generally won't. Read the instructions carefully before using it though. It is a very thorough program and works well but if you use it improperly you can screw up your system.

Why'd you do it that way, Mike? I thought with Expanded you could just do the initial install and slap D right on top of it (or maybe C is needed first... I forget but I didn't need all of them). Isn't D the most stable of them all?

@scook... yeah, that's the one I keep seeing recommended. As I said though, never needed it. I hope Mozilla doesn't completely screw up FF. Seemed like they were about to a year or so ago with the darned updates every freaking week but that was supposedly them just trying to catch up with backlogged releases they hadn't put out yet. It was very weird... and annoying.

Not sure Beep, I was just tired of the entire process of repairing and went step by step on that part. C has to be installed for Expanded according to the notes, didnt make it to D and wasnt sure. I know if you go to far on the builds, you have to revert back to install expanded. Maybe Ill read up on that one tomorrow when my brain has rested. I took today off from it or should I say I had to take a long break

Good stuff. Glad I could steer you to that. From what I saw about the C version when I first got here it sounds like it still had quite a few glitches in it. You gonna jump to X2? It's pretty sweet, man. TH2 and R-Mix alone are godsends. Cheers.

Woot Yup, all back to normal!!! The link work good FWIW Yeh, Im jumping sometime, just not sure how soon. Just added 2 new hard drives to this thing and have 16 GB of memory coming in for it as well. On top of a few other house projects I have going. So that kinda has me in a hold pattern for a little bit

hmm... you might want to check out whether you can snag the Content Club stuff retroactively. However maybe on the plus side you can wait until they offer some slick upgrade promo. The content club stuff has been kind of... meh.
