Recorded audio out of sync

Hello guys, I'm having a very disappointing problem. I import one stereo mp3 track with all the instruments recorded, create an audio mono audio track to record my voice on the top of that. Insert some effects to monitor during the process. And sometimes, although when I was recording it was ok, when I hit play the recorded audio is not in sync with the instrumental track. What should I do? Win 7 / Vaio Notebook (i7 / 8 GB of RAM / 5400 hd) / Fast Track 8r Ultra (with latest drives and 128 buffer). Thanks

Thanks for the reply. But is that normal with Sonar X1? How can I avoid that?

No, thats not normal. Sona rrecords the exact time as you sing. so either your sound card settings are scewed or your singing is off or its both.

While I'm recording everything is fine. So, I think it's not my singing. It just happens sometimes and when I nudge the file it goes in sync again, but that's very annoying. Setting in Fast Track 8r ultra: Sample Rate: 44.1 khz Sync Source: Internal Peak Metter Hold: 3 seconds Knob Mouse Axis: Vertical Buffer Size: 128 ASIO DIRECT MONITORING: not checked Should I change anything?

Yea, i would change soien things until you get optimal perfoemce. There are no right or wrong settigns, so i would just say experiemnt.

Also ,make sure your edit options are sound on sound and not make room , as this can move files aorund,
