don't laugh at me for using Beatscape, but

I just put X2 on a new machine and my old songs using Beatscape tracks/patches are missing them. So, I found the original Beatscape disc and installed it- still not recognized as a soft synth option, although the files are on the hard drive. Because I'm a computer dumb##$, can someone step by step me through how to get it recognized. I went to preferences, vsts and scanned /rescanned but I'm doing something wrong.  Thanks, Ara

If you are running X2 Producer 64bit, you need to add "c:\program files (x86)\cakewalk\vstplugins" to the VST Scan Folder(s) in Edit > Preferences > File > VST Settings and scan again.

thanks scook that put it in the menu like a charm-   however, now I'm getting Microsoft Visual C+++ runtime error, assertion failed  file:synth/synth utilities     and an awful buzzer and it doesn't work        do I gotta run it as administrator too? and can this be accessed somehow?   Thanks, Ara
