Memory Fails Me on a Program Change Matter

My Alesis Fusion 8HD is changing it's Program Changes improperly, and I'm not sure what MIDI settings I need to have set in Sonar 8.5.3. When I hit Record, it changes the preset I have in the track setting from 113 preset to 4 preset. It doesn't change anything on the bank. I'm confused because that discrepancy doesn't seem to illustrate any kind of pattern that's a multiple of 8, the way MIDI usually does. I've changed my Program Change Mode from Normal, to Zero, and 32, but I still get errors. Any ideas? KC

There may be a hidden PG event at the start of the track, Does it change if you start the track at measure 3?

Thanks, I figured part of it out. I was on Ch. 10, and I had other drum parts assigned to the #4 preset that it kept going to. I fixed that, but now the Bank change is the problem. It wants to set it 1 Bank higher than what I have it set on. I tried to change my hand-crafted Ins file so the banks start at zero, instead of 1, but it won't let me change that. So, where it says 1 = Fusion 8HD Bank 1, I'd like it to say 0 = Fusion 8HD Bank 1, but I can't make it do that. All it has over that 1st bank is 0-127. No zero (0), or anything. KC

Hmmm this sounds like a job for MIDI MAN!!

Life was easier when we did this with HEX code. Sorry I have never gone that deep into this. Sonar is not as proficient at midi as some would like to think it is, I had better luck in the 80's  with Atari software.
