A laptop with a useless soundcard, anyone with a cheap option?

Hi there I wonder if you could help?

I have a Dell Studio 1555 with a IDT audio soundcard.
I've managed to get it working with SONAR 6 although it has latency issues and judders when playing back!
I've been playing with buffer sizes etc. but can't improve things.

What I'm looking for a a cheap external soundcard that will do the business.
I'm using a M-audio Axiom 25 midi controller keyboard and may be using a microphone input at somepoint.

I've been looking at a secondhand UA 25ex, but they seem to be going for over £80.
Perhaps there is a cheaper option?
This is where I need your help and advice!!

Thanks in advance.
Graham

The problem you face is that the cheaper the option, the more the interface will be subject to latency & stability issues.

There's a lower price limit beyond which I think it's foolish to even consider.

Try searching the used gear in SOS
