There is one midi track in my project that crashes sonar every time - resolved-ish

It's like clock work.

only when I open it in PRV. I can bounce it to tracks, but if I try to open it in PRV, Sonar crashes.

I tried
- changing the output of the track
- sneaking up on it from behind (joke)
- reimporting the track from a backup (midi)
- I was able to stretch the clip beyond it's end
- bounce to clips
- moving the now time to a different part of the clip
- rebooting pc

Feeling stuck. Anyone experienced anything like this?

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Try opening it in the Event List and look at what it contains.

I split the clip at the end and deleted the end of the clip. Then I re-created it. That's got me working again. Thanks for your posts.

I didn't think to check the event list, John. That was a good idea I didn't get to.

Swamptooth, there is automation on the synth, so yes, I tried setting the output to my alphatrack (figured it was innocuous haha). I didn't see a null output setting for the midi track. In anycase, it still crashed.

I have deleted all non-note items from the midi track to be safe.

I am going to hit save every 3 seconds.

    I don't know what's up.

btw, this is a midi track I downloaded from some website, so that's probably the problem. My kid said she wanted to sing some Xmas songs so I downloaded some midi files as a starting place. Thanks for the help!

Haven't seen any problems so far with CC data in the PRV - so far the only thing is program changes. I've been doing a lot of orchestral stuff with heavy CC usage. There's always a possibility that there may be other trip-ups in the stream...

CW development is aware of this problem.

Thanks guys! It is using a Dimension Pro Synth.

Swamptooth, it did have program changes in it that I removed.
