Goo0gleyWoo0gley - Is ixquick a Good Search Engine?

ixquick.com and StartPage.com

Does anyone else use these sites and if so can you share your thoughts about them?

I've been using ixquick search engine for quite a while and just recently they added a sister site; StartPage.

Brief info about ixquick.com;
They have a fairly strict privacy policy, they don't collect or share any personal information.

Brief info about StartPage.com;
Is iquick sister page that offers search results from Google in complete privacy! Including a 'Proxy' link added in search results.

Both sites offer advance settings, filters and other search options such as; Images and Videos.

Anyway, thought I'd share this information with you all. :)

    I sometimes use an inprivate browser and I have used other search engines but not for security. I used to use Dogpile and other search engines and mees around with proxies but I figured since no one would be interested in what I am doing unless they really have no life at all... I hope. I've done pretty well, or panicware popup blocker and Norton 260 have done well, because I really get VERY little spam in my comcast mailbox. I don't even have or need a spam folder. Sometimes I sign up for email updates for this or that website and most are OK, others feel the need to update me WAY more than I need yo be updated and I unsubscribe from them... especially political crap. They seem to go away and it seems things are better than they used to be. I still have my original email... @ hotmail dot com and it is almost all spam. However since I never use it, I just check it now and then it is not overwhelming. My wife has both a Gmail and a Yahoo email for her businesses and she gets an enormous ammount of junk mail. She sometimes has 500 emails a day.
    I assume that this is your concern, I am just guessing though. Data miners sell what you search for to merchants who then spam you..
    I will check out the links you listed. Privacy is important. I try to avoid using phrases that would catch the attention of Carnivore or Einstein3 or anything else... but I think it must be impossible unless you are totally unengaged from real life. I think they are all related. I copy/pasted the word list. I hope I don't get a "visit".

    I was going to copy/paste just the word list but I thought better of it. They are in the first link but way down the page. They are here easier: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2150281/REVEALED-Hundreds-words-avoid-using-online-dont-want-government-spying-you.html

    Thanks for the info/links :)

    Will look into that tonight (or they will) it's as if they're watching us 24/7 aww heck they're probably reading this post now as I type lol!!

    500 Spams?, yeah that's about sums up their practice of digging into users online activities then sharing that info' All my much old accounts get about 200 Spams though most are caught by filter it's still unsettling knowing that, the Internet is like one big massive peepshow for big-snoopers, an informational super-highway on steroids... yeah a freakshow repository of all users information.

    Yes, dogpile.com is another search engine I use. I have that and these, ixquick and startpage added to my browsers, I also like the added proxy options that those last two search engines provide.

    Anyway, I like those three alternative search engines and feel I no longer need to use those others such as; Go00glle,Y@ho0ey!!
