going to X2 on a nex box too!

hi guys

i'm installing X2 on a new machine starting today.

i've got versions of Sonar (cakewalk) on my old box going back several versions, and along with it a lot of the old vst's, plug ins, and synths that are no longer included with sonar.

my question:

how do i copy the old vst's/plug ins/synths over to the new machine so that old projects referencing them still load up as intended?

thanks

Well, anything that is actually installed will need installation on the new computer.

Anything that is just a *.dll can be copied to a folder within either your Program Files folder or the Program Files x86 folder - depending on whether or not the plugins are 32-bit or 64-bit.

Assuming you get everything either installed or copied, make sure you add the paths in Sonar, under Tools>Cakewalk Plugin Manager.  The default action in Sonar is to scan for new plugins at start up, or you can tell it to scan from within the Cakewalk plugin Manager.

Please keep in mind that any 32-bit DXI components will not function in a 64-bit Sonar, so you may need to install a 32-bit Sonar on the new computer for any projects having components that are 32-bit DXI type.

    Hope that helps,
