Midi metronome confusion

Midi drum loop off time with metronome.  Here's what I'm doing.  I have a project with 125 bpm. Session drummer 3 loaded with a midi track.  Here is the sample loop path. Session drummer 3 midi loops/Steven Slate + Jerry Lyons/Rock compound/100_Rock_Verse_01._midi.

Can't get this beat to line up with the metronome to save my life.

    Steven Slate + Jerry Lyons/Rock compound/100_Rock_Verse_01._midi

That "compound" refers to compound time. If you've got it in a 4.4 project, it's not going to sound right. Try 6/8.

But since you probably want a 4/4 loop, you just need to get out of the "Compound" directory.

Thanks Brundlefly, That makes sense. But I really like that beat. I'll try the 6/8 time.

not sure i googled the slate website a while back with no luck. set your time sig to 3/4 or 6/8 - just tried it sounds about right. usually midi files will be separated into directories by time sig or have it in the filename.  that didn't happen in this case which is too bad.

Swamp, I tried it in 6/4 and inserted a midi bass track to try to match it up. I think that may be it.  Thanks for the quick replies guys.  I didn't know what compound meant, but now I know. PITA!  lol

    Thanks again.
